Round-Up Wednesday (July 22, 2015)

This world is incredible. If you haven’t taken a moment to watch the stars or find a place that seems untouched by humans, make it your mission this weekend to do so.

Photographer Jeff Boyce, spent 5 weeks traveling the US and taking over 70,000 still pictures that he knew he’d eventually want to combine for a time lapse video. As he traveled, Boyce was particularly interested in storms and weather patterns. The finished video, Edge of Stability, focuses on the raw power of storms in some pretty spectacular places and is going to give you a pretty good dose of wanderlust envy.

A result of over 70,000 individual high resolution photos and nearly 20,000 miles of driving, “Edge of Stability” highlights some of the most unique, awe-inspiring, and incredibly strange sights on the planet. Recorded entirely over Spring of 2015, scenes include storm chasing adventures across 15 US states, displays of the Milky Way over desert landscapes, and the amazing Aurora Borealis over Canada.

EWOK UPCYCLE

I’m a closet Star Wars geek. Many people would be surprised to learn that I had movie posters on my wall as a teenager or that I skipped class to see to see the films. Star Wars forever! And the Ewoks were my favorite. How could you not help but love them?!? If you’re looking to get the next generation hooked on Star Wars, then these Ewok Upcycled Bears are the way to do it. This video shows you step-by-step how to take a regular teddy bear and turn it into your favorite Ewok.

ICE CREAM CREATIONS

Because Sunday was National Ice Cream Day, these. These unbelievable creations from Patissez in Canberra Australia look like something dreamed up in a mad scientist lab (and I mean that in a good way) and are every ice cream lovers dream. I can’t wait to get my hand on one, until then, I’m going to have to settle for trying to create these creations myself.
