Round-Up Wednesday (December 9, 2015)

If you’re on the lookout for holiday treats that look impressive but don’t actually take that much time, these are our favorites.

Homemade Marshmallows

Whether or not you like store bought marshmallows, you’re pretty much guaranteed to love these homemade ones from Alton Brown. The combination of flavors is endless—cinnamon, chocolate, peppermint—and are guaranteed to impress. The trickiest part about them is that you need to own a candy thermometer. In an air tight container these can be stored for up to 3 weeks so make them now before the season gets too crazy!

Coconut Fudge Brownies

These coconut fudge brownies from simplysogood.com may just be the perfect brownies. They are gooey and super rich (not the best for a new’s year diet). While the recipe calls for homemade brownies, I normally just use a box because that’s what I have the time for. Either way you wont be disappointed.

Swig Sugar Cookies

Part of Christmas baking is making Christmas cookies. Ask anyone from Utah what the best sugar cookie is and you’ll get the same answer—Swig’s. This Swig sugar cookie copycat recipe is spot on and is everything a sugar cookie should be-soft and chewy and not too sweet. While the Swig sugar cookie is known for it’s round shape, this recipe holds it’s shape. If you’re looking for a way to up your sugar cookie game this holiday you’ve found it.
