Round-Up Wednesday (July 15, 2015)
What I love most about my Round-Up Wednesday post is that there’s no guideline. I can share with you whatever caught my eye that week—no matter how varied the stories. Which is great, because that’s how I am. I’m constantly sharing random things with my friends and family. Somehow though, today’s post ended up all about things that inspired me—to give, to dream, and to seize the moment.
TO GIVE
With headlines constantly shouting out stories of hate and violence, sometimes it’s easy to forget that most people are essentially good. I love watching/reading stories where everyday people strive to make a difference through simple acts. Rosa’s Fresh Pizza shop in Philly has a pay it forward system to give meals to the city’s homeless. Rosa’s doesn’t ask much, just $1.00. But that simple system has raised over $10,000. $10,000! If you want to join the cause, you can donate a dollar HERE.
TO DREAM
If you were to ask me for a list of Top Ten Favorite things, summer nights spent looking at the stars would be on it. When I look at the stars I’m reminded to slow down, and in the grand scheme of things, most of my worries are small. Which I need to be reminded of all the time. I’ve been following #PlutoFlyby with new eyes (think it has to do with my boyfriend working for NASA) and have been touched by how these pictures have captured the imagination of not only myself, but the world. Hopefully, seeing these pictures will get more boys and girls excited for the “world” of possibilities out there (bad pun, LOL).
TO SEIZE THE MOMENTS
Alison Faulker of The Alison Show is one of my absolutely favorite people to follow on social media. She’s hilarious. But most of all she’s real and I LOVE that realness and you will love it too! She throws these amazingly crazy parties for no other reason than to celebrate life. She’s just released an online party planning course that shows you exactly how you can party with the best of them—because life is all about seizing the moment. #PartyWithAlison
